Bow to Stern 2nd Annual One Design & PHRF Regatta

IT’S A REGATTA FOR EVERYONE… No boat, no problem, no crew, no problem, no experience, no problem… Join us for our second annual Bow to Stern Regatta for two great days of sailing, food, fun, and awards. This is a chance for all sailors of all ages and experience to get into a real regatta. If you need to use a boat, looking for crew, or a captain, we can help. Plan on arriving Friday evening, set up camp, and enjoy the peaceful surroundings on Smith Creek.

The captains meeting will start at 0900 on Saturday with instruction and guidance. The race gun will be at 1100, with racing till around 1500. Brantley’s Restaurant will be serving up their famous fried chicken with all the sides. Entertainment will be provided with plenty of fun for everyone. Next morning back on the water around 1000, racing till 1300, followed by awards for all deserving.

NOTICE OF RACE

1 RULES
1.1 The races will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing 2017-2020.
Racing rules that are changed will appear in full in the sailing instructions.

2 ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
2.1 Bow to Stern Boating Center is the organizing authority. The regatta is open to all boats, including:
Opti, Sunfish, Laser, FJ and 420 One Design classes. The regatta will also allow for other classes which consists of a minimum of 3 like entrants.
2.2 Eligible boats may enter by clicking the “Bow to Stern Regatta” button found at http://www.bowtosternboating.com/register?c=programs completing the form and submitting it online. An invoice will be send for payment.

3 SCHEDULE
3.1 Saturday, August 10, 2019
0900 – 1000 Check-In / Registration (Bow to Stern Boating Center – 290 Blackwell Point Loop Rd. Oriental, NC)
1000 – Competitor’s Meeting
1100 – First Warning Gun – No races start after 1600.
1700 – Food and Music at Bow to Stern
3.2 Sunday, August 11, 2019
1000 – First Warning Signal – No races start after 1400.
Awards – As soon as possible after furling.
3.3 Number of races: Will be announced at the Competitor’s meeting and will be at the discretion of the race committee. The goal is to get in as many races as possible.

4 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
4.1 The sailing instructions will be available at registration and will be available on Bow to Stern’s website.

5 VENUE
5.1 Racing will be conducted in the waters of Oriental, NC on the Neuse River and the creeks adjacent to the town.

6 THE COURSES
The racing area and courses will be defined at the Skippers meeting.

7 DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See Rule 4, Decision to Race. The
organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death
sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.
